Ueno Zoo

On Saturday the 24th, we went to Ueno Zoo. It is a good-size zoo with lots to see. The giant panda is always a big attraction. He was sleeping when we went by.




"Who me? Stand still? I'm outta here"!

"I'll see the second half of the zoo another time".

This is a five-story pagoda on the zoo grounds. It was built in 1631. A pagoda houses a relic of the Buddha, usually a fragment of bone. The bone fragment is enshrined at the base of the central pillar. This pagoda is not open for the public.
