Yes, it's true. You can get turkey and pumpkin pie in Tokyo on Thanksgiving Day. Last year we attended a celebration in the home of a friend of our then-pastor, Pastor Albrecht. This year, our new pastor, Eric, made us reservations at Fujimama's restaurant. The restaurant is quite popular for its Thanksgiving dinner and has two seatings on Thursday and Friday. We had our dinner at 6 p.m. on Thursday. Pastor Eric has made a lot of connections already. He and his wife, Christie, have only been in Japan about 2 months. Many of the guests in our party are lay missionaries, who are here to teach English. Pastor Eric's parents were also in town and joined us. Some of the regular Sunday crew rounded out the guest list. Addison wasn't feeling quite like herself. She had a little runny nose and a little cough. Seems to have caught up with her that night.

Addison had her own special dinner served in a traditional Japanese food box. Alas, she had two bites of turkey and three bites of pie. All of the food I ate was delicious, but we were all in agreement that we weren't stuffed. Not necessarily a bad thing for the waist lines though! We were all thankful to have had good fellowship and some turkey on Thanksgiving Day. We hope you and yours had a blessed Thanksgiving too!
